Submission & Webinars

A complete Jabchor 2 Pitching Event application consisting of registration form, 750-word executive summary, and a 90- second promotional video and uploading relevant documents must be submitted via the Jabchor website by May 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM (noon) Bhutan Time. Applicants are advised to allow sufficient time prior to the deadline to submit their application and to carefully review the “Application Instructions” and “Evaluation Criteria” prior to submitting. Once the application is submitted by the announced deadline, the applicant may not seek to modify it.

All applicants will be able to access and edit their applications, including submitted applications, until the application deadline.

During the application period, potential applicants can attend webinars to acquire skills to improve their applications:

  • 05 May 2025: What is Jabchor 2.0? – For Entrepreneurs
  • 09 May 2025: What is Jabchor 2.0? – For Investors
  • 12 May 2025: How to make a promotional video – For Entrepreneurs
  • 15 May 2025: Advice on how to complete your application – For Entrepreneurs 

 

This schedule may be adjusted and additional training webinars may be added. All changes to this schedule will be posted on our website.

Upload Document Checklist in Registration Form

  • CID of applicant/license holder
  • CIB report of applicant, license holder as applicable
  • Business License as applicable
  • Tax Clearance Certificate as applicable
  • CV of promoters

Noted: Financial Reports (audited report) as applicable is not required to be uploaded but the promoter(s) should be able to provide the information during the next phase.

Bootcamp and Finalist Selection

Following the application deadline, all complete submissions will be invited to attend a mandatory 3-day bootcamp scheduled from May 19-21, 2025. The bootcamp agenda includes:

Day 1: Program Orientation & Document Verification

  • Introduction to Jabchor 2.0 initiative
  • Review of submitted documents (financial statements, sales pipelines, certifications)

Day 2: Investment Fundamentals

  • Equity financing mechanisms
  • Business valuation methodologies
  • Investor exit strategies

Day 3: Legal & Compliance Framework

  • Business incorporation processes
  • FDI policy requirements
  • Partnership compliance for Jabchor investors

Post-bootcamp, the selection committee will:

  1. Shortlist 15-20 promising participants
  1. Submit recommendations to the Advisory Committee
  1. Announce the Top 10 Finalists based on Section VII evaluation criteria

Selected finalists must:

✓ Complete registration payment

✓ Proceed to the grooming stage

Confidentiality and Undertaking:

All trainers and mentors will sign Innovest Private Limited’s Conflict of Interest and Non-Disclosure Agreements to enable open discussions during the bootcamp and Phase 3 grooming program.
All bootcamp participants must sign an undertaking to fully participate and agree to the Success Fee. Those selected for Jabchor 2.0 must commit to all training activities—non-compliance will result in disqualification and blacklisting from future programs.

Entrepreneur Grooming Program

Program Details:

Finalists will participate in the Entrepreneur Grooming Session at Innovest Office’s Innovation Lab from May 26 to  June 19, 2025, with workstations and working lunch provided.

Training & One on one groom sessions :

  • Business Model Canvas refinement
  • Mentorship optimization
  • Target audience identification & sales strategies
  • Regulatory pathways & IP protection
  • Science/tech communication for general audiences
  • Financial deep dive: auditing, sales forecasts, valuation
  • Prospectus development & pitch deck preparation and practice

Workshops:

Three pre-pitching webinars covering:

✓ Business Model Canvas essentials

✓ Investor communication strategies

✓ Technical writing for entrepreneurs

✓ Effective pitch development

Expert Sessions:

Finalists will engage with experienced entrepreneurs on:

  • Funding opportunities
  • Stakeholder management
  • Global tech trends

Expected Deliverables:

By program end, finalists must prepare:

  • Final pitch deck & prospectus
  • Marketing materials
  • Prototype/finished product (as applicable)
  • Audited reports & testimonials (Demonstrating Investment Readiness)

Selected investors will receive:

  • Partnership scope clarification
  • Legal arrangement details
  • Q&A session

Jabchor 2.0 Pitching and Post Investment Handholding Support

Pitching Event (June 25, 2025)

  • Finalists will deliver 15-minute live pitches to investors, categorized by stage (Idea/Startup/Growth).
  • Venue to be announced later.

Investor Negotiations after Pitching Event (June 25–30, 2025)

  • Private 1:1 meetings in designated rooms, with mentors present after the pitching session is delivered in presence of all attendants.
  • Required materials: Licenses, audited reports, business plans, prototypes, etc.
  • Negotiations may continue until June 30, 2025.
  • Deal finalization: MoU signing upon mutual agreement

Company Incorporation and Funding

  • Investor funds transferred only after company incorporation.
  • Secretarial support for company incorporation provided by Innovest shall be incorporated within a week to a month depending on the business sector.

Post-Investment Handholding for Jabchor 2.0 offered by Innovest (3–6 Months)

  • Compliance: In accordance to Companies Act of Kingdom of Bhutan and FDI Policy.
  • Fund utilization: Monitoring as per proposal.
  • Talent, HR, and admin support: Tailored to business needs.
  • Reporting: Facilitate support to conduct auditing and generate annual financial report to the company and Organizer DoEE

Cost-sharing model for Post handholding support:

  • First 3 months: DoEE-funded.
  • Extended support: Business-funded.

Success Fees:

  • On receiving the investment, the newly established company agrees to make success Fees as per the Success Fee mentioned in Appendix A.
